Marian Johnson enters her second year at Howard University. She was named Director of Compliance in February 2009. Her primary responsibility is ensuring that the university is in compliance with the NCAA/MEAC rules and regulations.

Prior to Howard, Johnson was an Academic Coordinator for student athletes at Morgan State University. While at Morgan, Ms. Johnson directed the distribution, management, and budgetary accounting of the departmental textbook program. She also analyzed eligibility and retention rates and drafted academic improvement plans submitted to NCAA. Johnson organized and implemented academic services programs while closely monitoring at-risk student-athletes. 

Ms. Johnson was the Assistant Director of Admissions at Felician College and also spent four years at Seton Hall University as a track and field/cross-country coach. 

A native of Jamaica/Brooklyn, N.Y., Ms. Johnson received her bachelor's degree from Xavier University. She later went on to receive a master's degree at Seton Hall. Her future plans include obtaining a PhD in Education Administration and Policy.  Ms. Johnson is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
