WASHINGTON, DC – Four members of the Howard Athletics coaching staff attended Career Day at C.W. Raymond Elementary School located in NW Washington, DC. Head volleyball coaches Dawn Barnes, head football coach Gary “Flea” Harrell, football assistant coach Donald Griggs, and head men’s basketball head coach Kevin Nickelberry represented Howard Athletics at the fair held on June 2.

The mission of career day was to collaborate with the community and public figures in order to educate students on the importance of furthering their education. The morning was filled with 15-minute presentations on career aspirations, and mentoring students and what they need to do to achieve their dreams and goals.

Also participating in career day were the Metropolitan Police Department, Metro Fire & Emergency Medical Services, Metro Transportation, University of Maryland Athletics representatives, an Audi Car Services Representative, Pepco Holdings, Inc. and Licensed Hair Stylists and Make-Up Consultants.
