Game Notes: Howard vs. Bethune-Cookman
This is a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match-up between the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University and the Bison of Howard University. The Wildcats (4-5 overall, 3-3 in the MEAC) are coming off a 27-24 win over Hampton University at home this past Saturday. Howard University (2-7 overall, 0-6 MEAC) is looking for its first conference win after dropping a 43-13 decision to South Carolina State at home on Saturday.
BCU is coached by Alvin "Shine" Wyatt (Bethune-Cookman '70), who is in his 13th season as head coach and has an 89-52 career record in 13-plus seasons. Howard University is coached by Carey Bailey (Tennessee '92) who is 7-24 in three-plus seasons.
Veteran assistant coach Nick Calcutta takes over the duties of offensive line coach and offensive coordinator...Jafar Williams, a former standout wide receiver at the University of Maryland, takes over as wide receivers coach for Alvin Harper...Reggie Ellis enters his first season as defensive line coach and William Smith will serve as kicking coach.
The Wildcats take on rival Florida A&M University in the Florida Classic next Saturday in Orlando, FL while the Bison will close out the season against the Hornets of Delaware State on Saturday at 1 pm in Dover, DE.
