Pough Named To FCS All-America Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – Howard University redshirt senior Keith Pough has been named to the 2012 Sports Network FCS Pre-season All-America Team.  A 6-3, 235-pound red-shirt senior linebacker from Orangeburg, S.C., is coming off a brilliant season in which he led the team in tackles with 120.  Pough also recorded 21.0 tackles for losses behind the line of scrimmage, ranking him second in the MEAC and eighth overall in the country.

The outside linebacker had 71 solo tackles to rank seventh nationally in solo tackles.

He was a first team All-MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) selection and was named to several All-America teams for his impressive numbers during the 2011 season.

In 2010, Pough served notice that he was to be reckoned with, recording 100 total tackles and 28.5 tackles for losses to rank him No. 1 in the FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) and in the MEAC in that category.  He is on schedule to break several school marks during the 2012 season.

For his career, Pough has 257 total tackles, 52 tackles for losses and 17 sacks.  He joins Norfolk State standout, OT Blake Matthews as the only MEAC players named to the first team.
