Pough, Greshman-Chisholm Receive More Honors
It marked the second straight year that the 6-3, 240-pound senior from Orangeburg, SC, has been so honored. Pough, who was the 2012 MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and Sports Network FCS All American, finished his season in grand style, leading his team to a 7-4 record, the Bison's best since 1998. He also set a new FCS record for career tackles for losses with 71.
Pough will get an opportunity to showcase his skills for the NFL scouts when he plays in the East-West Shrine Bowl on January 19.
Damon Gresham Chisholm had a brilliant season for a first year player, leading the the MEAC with 18 tackles for losses, registering five sacks and 41 tackles, including 28 solos. The 6-3, 250-pound freshman from Douglas, Ga, finished 4th in the FCS in tackles for losses and 4th in both forced fumbles and fumble recoveries.
It marked the second straight year that a Howard player was named rookie of the year. Last year it was Bison quarterback Greg McGhee.
Also receiving recognition for their contributions were Bison junior offensive guard Joshua Matthews and junior safety Julien David, who received honorable mention. Matthews and David were both first team All MEAC selections.
