Myatt, Brown Finalists for HSRN National Player of the Week

HARTLY, DEL. - Senior Eugene Myatt and sophomore Zykia Brown are finalists for the Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) National Player of the Week, it was announced yesterday. Log in to www.hsrn.com to cast your vote today. Voting ends on Thurs., Feb. 12 at 5pm (EST).

Myatt led the Bison to a 2-0 finish last week in conference play.  Myatt scored 26 points, connecting on 11-of-17, with two steals, one assist and one blocked shot in a 68-62 win over Norfolk State.  He followed that performance with 22 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 72-65 win over Maryland Eastern Shore.  Myatt was perfect (11-of-11) from the free-throw line against the Hawks.

The streaking Bison have won four in a row with Myatt's help and he was recently named the MEAC Player of the Week for his efforts.

Brown averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.0 steals for HU last week. She shot 40-percent from the field (14-of-35) and 81-percent (13-of-16) from the charity stripe. The Maryland native recorded a career-high 32 points along with four rebounds, six assists and two steals in a win over Norfolk State. She followed that performance with 13 points, six assists and four steals against Maryland Eastern Shore.

Brown was named MEAC Player of the Week on Feb. 9, the second she has received that honor this season.
