Myatt Named First Team All-MEAC

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Eugene Myatt has been voted to the 2008-09 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference first team by the conference coaches and sports information directors.

A 6-5 senior guard from Philadelphia, PA, Myatt averaged almost 17 points per game to lead the Bison in scoring and was third overall in the MEAC. He had his best season statistically, shooting over 41 percent from the field and 78 percent from the free throw line.

One of the most difficult players to stop in the MEAC, Myatt poured in a career-tying 41 points in a late season win over Coppin State.  He has scored in double figures in 18 straight games and 24 of 28 overall.  He scored 20 or more points seven times.

After missing several games due to injury in the previous three games, Myatt proved to be durable starting, 28 of the 29 games played (he missed one game due to a back injury).

Myatt reached the 1,000-point plateau this season and his 1,249 points ranks him sixth all time in school history behind Melvin Watson' s  1,254.

Myatt becomes the first player to be named All-MEAC since 2002-03 when Ron Williamson was honored.
