Howard University Men's Basketball Fact Sheet No. 23 THE GAME: This is a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match-up between the Bison of Howard University and the Hornets of Delaware State University. The Bison (6-16, 5-3 MEAC) are coming off a 67-66 loss to Maryland Eastern Shore this past Saturday while the Hornets (10-8, 5-2 MEAC) are coming off a 58-56 win over Hampton University at home on Saturday. THE COACHES: Howard is coached by Gil Jackson (Elizabethtown, '69), who is in his fifth season and has a 36-109 career record. Delaware State is coached by Greg Jackson (St. Paul's, '80), who is in his 10th season there and has a 150-144 record to date. Jackson's overall coaching record is 313-221 in 19-plus seasons to date. rpg HORNET STINGS: Delaware State leads the MEAC in scoring defense, allowing only 60.2 points per game and in turnover margin (plus 5.29)...the Hornets are second in three-point percentage shooting (35 percent) and in steals (8.6 per game...individually, Francisco Sandidge is 9th in field goal percentage (50 percent), tied for 9th in rebounding and 11th in scoring (13.3)...Marcus Neal is tied for 7th in scoring and second in three pointers made per game (2.7)... Jay Threatt leads the MEAC in steals and is 6th in assists. BISON HOOVES: Calvin Thompson ranks 6th in the conference in free throw shooting (71 percent) and 9th in scoring (13.7)...Dadrian Collins, a strong candidate for MEAC Rookie of the Year, is 8th in the MEAC in three-point shooting (41 percent) and in three pointers made...Dadrian Collins has scored in double figures in the past six games...Calvin Thompson returns to the lineup after sitting out one game due to a coach's decision. NEXT UP: The Bison continue their current four-game road trip when they travel to Winston-Salem, NC to take on the Rams of Winston-Salem State on Saturday at 4 pm. The Hornets also take to the road and they will take on the Aggies of North Carolina A&T on Saturday at 4 pm.
