Boxscore

MORAGA, CALIF. - Eddie Williams scored 11 of his game-high 18 points in the first half and Jereal Scott tallied all of his 14 in the second half to lead Stephen F. Austin to a 73-50 win over Howard in the Shamrock Classic at McKeon Pavilion.

The Lumberjacks (8-2) took control early and capitalized on the Bison's inability to score consistently.  Williams led a 10-2 run over the last five minutes to help Stephen F. Austin take a 32-20 lead to the locker room.  He made all five of his attempts in the first 20 minutes.

Howard (1-11) got 11 points from Calvin Thompson and six points from Mike Phillips but little else.

Scott took over for the Lumberjacks in the second half as he hit on all six of his shots from the field while also adding 2 of 2 from the free throw line.

After a 25 percent shooting performance (5 of 20) from the field in the first half, Howard was able to improve in the second half by hitting on 11 of 25 but it was not enough to overcome a 57 percent shooting performance (15 of 26) by Stephen F. Austin.

Thompson finished with a team-high 16 points for the Bison while Phillips contributed nine before fouling out.

Howard takes on St. Mary's on Wednesday at 8 pm.
