Howard University Announces Men’s Basketball Signing

Howard University announces the signing of basketball recruit Simuel Frazier to a grant-in-aid for next year.  Frazier is a 5-11 guard from Maury High School in Norfolk, VA.  As a junior last season, Frazier averaged 15.6 points and 3.0 assists per game.  In leading his school to the state tournament for the time since 2004, Frazier averaged 18.3 points in the post-season including a career-high 31 points.

He was named first team All Tidewater and first team All Eastern District.

"It's a home run for us here at Howard University and what we are trying to do with this basketball program," said an excited Howard head coach Kevin Nickelberry.  "He is a true point guard and the tough type of player that we need.  He, along with (recruits) Theodore Boyomo and Alphonse Leary are the foundation for what we are trying to accomplish."

Frazier, who was highly recruited, was the starting point guard for the Boo Williams AAU program, one of the tops in the country.  He is currently averaging 19 points per game and has scored 20 or more points in four of the last seven games.
