WASHINGTON, D.C. - Howard defeated Mary Washington, 1-0 in its final preseason game Saturday afternoon at Greene Stadium. HU wraps up the preseason with an unblemished 3-0 record and opens up its regular season on Wednesday against George Mason in the DC Cup.

Both teams were scoreless after 90 minutes with some brilliant goalkeeping by both custodians.

In the seventh minute of overtime, freshman striker Patrick Rose volleyed home after an accurate cross by Rodino Wright, which sealed the victory for the Bison.

"I was very impressed with the effort the team has put forth thus far and I hope the confidence gained from the preseason wins will carry over in to the regular season," head coach Michael Lawrence said.
