HOWARD MEN’S SOCCER CLUTCHES A GOAL DURING D.C. COLLEGE CUP
WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – During the 12th annual D.C. College Cup on Thursday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Sept.1, the Howard University men's soccer team fell to fellow Washingtonians American (7-0) and George Washington (2-1) in Washington, D.C.
Bison sophomore Frederick Todd III, who tallied the only goal of the afternoon, represented HU on the All-Tournament Team list.
HU began the two-day event with a 5:00 p.m. matchup against American. With seven goals in the win, American went for 12 shots and three corner kicks, while the mighty blue and white tallied three shots and two corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Bellot attained four saves and took the loss with all seven goals occurring during his time at the net.
On Saturday, Sept. 1, HU took on George Washington in a 12:00 p.m. matchup.
During that contest, Howard went for seven shots and five corners, as GW went for 10 shots and seven corner kicks.
Todd placed the Bison on the board in under ten minutes of play, scoring a goal at the 8:13 mark.
Sophomore Eric Hamilton played a complete game as the goalkeeper, attaining four save against two goals.
Howard returns to road action with a Wednesday, Sept. 5 contest at Towson in Towson, Md., at 5:00 p.m.
