Morgan State Edges Howard in Conference Finale

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Bison men's tennis team concluded their MEAC schedule with a loss to beltway rival Morgan State. The Bears left the nation's capital with a 4-3 win.
Senior Michael Gee defeated Juan Ortiz at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-3 while Christopher Brown came from behind to win at No. 2 singles, 5-7, 6-3 and 6-1.
Freshman Omar Haloui made easy
work of Dmitry Chekhaltyy, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. MSU's
Mauricio Ortiz defeated Chad Jones, 7-6, 6-2 at No. 4 and Tonique
Merrell lost to Benjamin Aaron, 7-5, 6-2 at No. 5.
Brown and Merrill were edged 5-4 at No. 1 doubles, 5-4
and Haloui/Jones fell 8-4 loss at No. 2 doubles.
Howard dropped No. 6 singles and
No. 3 doubles due to a shortage of players.
HU hosts Richmond in its final home contest on Monday.
