Hampton Edges Howard in MEAC North Battle

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Hampton defeated Howard, 5-2 on Saturday in a battle for first place in the MEAC Northern Division. The Bison men preceded the Hampton loss with wins over UMES and Delaware State and wrapped up league action at 4-1.

Junior George Diggs wrapped up a 4-0 week in singles action after defeating Hampton's Marcelo Reda, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Eric Chavous was also victorious in singles action after taking down Kenneth Greene at No. 4, 6-0, 6-1.

Diggs took down DSU's Roman Pitatelev and made easy work of Emmash Sudusinghe (UMES) during action on Friday in Dover.

Omar Haloui and Devard Wharton also picked up singles wins vs. UMES.

Howard (4-9, 4-1 MEAC) wrapped up Friday's action with a 4-0 win over Maryland Eastern Shore and a 4-1 win over Delaware State.

The Bison will face off with Georgetown on Tuesday,  April 6 in a non-league match at the McDonough Tennis Complex.
