WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard women's and men's swimming and diving teams traveled across the District to face the Colonials of George Washington on Friday evening.  The Bison continue to impress in the water, but the Colonials depth proved to be too much for the visitors as the men fell 91-78 with the women dropping the contest 91-71.

Leading the charge  was senior captain Polo Edwards.  Edwards' fantastic surge in the beginning of her 200 freestyle propelled her to victory with a time of 2:00.66.  Edwards was also integral in the victory in the 200 freestyle relay.  Combined with freshmen Chelsea Andrews, E'lan Brewer and sophomore Cachanda Evans, the Lady Bison scorched the oncoming eight Colonials with an impressive 1:41.89 - their best relay split of the season.

Edwards also placed second in her 100 backstroke with a 1:10.21.

Andrews, too, was triumphant for the Lady Bison.  The freshman stormed past the competition from the start on her way to a first-place time of 53.72, more than four seconds ahead of the field.  Andrews also swam her first 1000 freestyle of her college career and did quite well, posting a time of 11:23.93, good for fourth place.

On the men's side, Zadok Isaacs recorded his first collegiate victory in very exciting fashion.  The freshmen's fabulous final 50 brought him to the finish with a winning time of 49.35.  Isaacs also scored fourth place points for the Bison in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.17.  To conclude the meet, the Isaacs joined sophomore Steven Lott, junior Damjan Strbac and senior Brad Worrell for an exciting second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.  Isaacs lead-off relay split of 22.62 was his best for the season as the men completed the race in a time of 1:30.20.

The Bison are back in the water today and, for the only time this season, at home for Senior Day.  Ceremonies begin at 11:45AM with the competition beginning and 12PM.
