Jan 13, 2009 Bison Show Well at Father Diamond InvitationalFAIRFAX, VA. - The Bison placed fourteen tracksters in the top-three at George Mason's Father Diamond Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 10. Christopher Harrison won the 400m dash in 49.58 and Thurman Sanders took first in the 800m run in 2:00.20. Stephen Small-Warner was the runner-up in the long jump (7.01m or 30 feet) and Tochi Odocha was second in the 200m dash in 22.80. Howard had a pair of bronze medalists in the high jump and the 800m run. Hamadi Price took third in the 800m run (2:02.69) and Vaughn Holland jumped 1.85m (6'7") in the high jump, en route to a third-place finish. The women's squad got a first-place finish from Lauren McNary in the 500m dash (1:15.37). Azalia King was not far behind in the same event, taking fourth in 1:22.71. Jami Hardy took second in the 800m run in 2:18.87 and Alexandria McKee was third in the high jump in 1.55m (5'1"). Alexandria Lemonious was third in the 60m hurdles (8.93) and later finished eighth in the long jump (5.07m or 16'6"). Sophomore Ashley Hodges crossed the mile run line in 5:28.56, good for fifth, and Tamila Myles was fifth in the 800m run in 2:38.25. The Bison return to action on this weekend at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
