HU Nets 11 Top Five Finishes at Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Howard brought home 11 top-5 finishes during action at the Wake Forest Open at Kentner Stadium. Landria Buckley, Lauren McNary and Daniel Kinney qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Regional Championship during the meet.

The Lady Bison got a first-place finish from Lauren McNary in the 400m dash. The Florida native won her event in 53.99 and provsionally qualified for the NCAA Championship. Ashley Hodges won bronze in the 800m run (2:11.69) and Jami Hardy took fifth in the same event in 2:12.40.

Hardy qualified for the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships with her mark.

Landria Buckley improved on her preliminary time and won the 100m hurdles in 13.56. Teammate Alexandria Lemonious was fourth after crossing the line in 14.37. Buckley also picked up a win in the 400m hurdles (59.70). Buckley qualified for NCAA's in both events.

The 4x400m relay squad was the runner-up after finishing in 3:44.40.

Christopher Harrison won bronze for the men's squad in the 400m dash (47.43). Richard Williams was seventh in the 800m run in 1:54.15. Daniel Kinney took silver in the 110m hurdles (14.18) and Carnegie Tirado was eighth for the Bison in the same event in 15.35. Kinney's time in the 100m hurdles qualified him for the NCAA Regional Championship.

Kinney later placed third in the 400m hurdles (53.17).

The men's 4x100m relay took second in 41.72 while the 4x400m squad won their event in 3:13.91.

In field events, Stephen Small-Warner won silver in the long jump after leaping 7.17m.

Howard returns to North Carolina on March 27 for the Raleigh Relays.
