HAMPTON, VA. - Howard swept Hampton 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 28-26) in a MEAC volleyball contest Wednesday afternoon in Hampton, Va. The Bison will have little rest and travel to Newark, N.J. for the NJIT Halloween Classic on Friday and Saturday.

The Bison (13-16, 7-2 MEAC) held the Pirates to a .074 attack percentage and outblocked Hampton 16-4.

Senior Elyssa Lee and sophomore Gazelle d'Artois paced Howard with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

Freshman Taylor Johnson added eight kills and six block assists and sophomore Nicole Brown had 15 digs, the match-high.

Adriana Vazquez had a team-high seven kills for Hampton. Alyssa Jackson chipped in 13 digs on the defensive end.

HU faces off with Bryant in the opening match of the NJIT Halloween Classic on Friday before battling Providence and the host Highlanders in the finale on Saturday.

The Bison host Maryland Eastern Shore in its home finale, a senior day contest on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2pm.
