WASHINGTON, D.C. - Freshman Gabrielle Martin (Stockton, Calif./St. Mary's H.S.) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week, the conference announced yesterday. This is the third time this season that Martin has garnered Rookie of the Week accolades. 

Martin helped the Lady Bison to a 1-1 mark last week while hitting 45-percent from the floor (21-of-47) in two matches. She had seven kills and three digs in win over Morgan State and led the squad with 14 kills against Delaware State.

Sophomore Gazelle d'Artois was noted in the top performances of the week. The outside hitter totaled 21 kills and 17 digs for HU last week.

Howard returns to action tonight with a non-conference home matchup against George Washington. First serve against GW is slated for 7pm.
