Volleyball Win Streak Reaches Six Matches

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard women's volleyball team made easy work of North Carolina Central, sweeping the Eagles 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-20) in a non-league matchup Tuesday evening in Burr Gymnasium. The win was the sixth straight for the Bison, who improved to 10-13 with the victory.

Freshman Gabrielle Martin was HU's leader in kills. The California had a match-high nine kills and hit .381.

Gazelle d'Artois had a good all-around game and finished with eight kills, 12 digs, three set-assists and two block-assists.

Sophomore Nicole Brown added nine digs on the defensive end for the Lady Bison, who held NCCU to a .060 attack percentage for the entire match.

Avaniki Campbell led the Eagles (4-21) with eight kills. Setter Ashley Shade contributed 17 assists.

Howard returns to action on Friday with a MEAC battle against Md. Eastern Shore. The match of the unbeatens will tip-off at 7pm in Princess Anne, Md.
