Volleyball Swept by Navy

ANNAPOLIS, MD. - Alexa Gibbs totaled 11 kills to help lead Navy to a three-set sweep of the Howard volleyball team, Wednesday night at Macdonough Hall in Annapolis, Md. The Midshipmen improved to 7-3 on the season with the 25-16, 25-17, 25-23 win over the now 2-10 Bison.

Gazelle d'Artois was the lone Bison to reach double figures in kills with 12 on the night. Reigning MEAC Rookie of the Week Gabrielle Martin tallied nine kills and a match-high 13 digs. 

Setter Grace DeMichelis added 23 assists, six digs and four kills.

For Navy, Holly Berger led the squad in digs with nine and Marissa Watson chipped in 28 set-assists.

Howard is back in action this weekend at the Courtyard LaGuardia Volleyball Classic, hosted by LIU. The Bison will face off with St. John's on Sept. 19 before facing the host Blackbirds and Houston Baptist on Sept. 20.
