Howard Alumna Denique Graves Named Assistant Coach at Binghamton

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Former Lady Bison standout Denique Graves was recently named assistant women's basketball coach at Binghamton. Graves joins the Bearcats after a stint as the Girls Basketball Director and Coach for the Headfirst Camp in Washington D.C.

Graves graduated from Howard in 2008 and was a key member of the women's basketball squad during her four years as a Bison. She was a three-year All-MEAC selection and was the first player from a historically black college or university to be drafted by the WNBA.

The Philadelphia native was drafted 15th overall in the 1997 WNBA Draft by the Sacramento Monarchs and played for two seasons before signing with the Orlando Miracle in 2001.

Graves has also played professional basketball in Brazil, Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria.
