Brown Named HSRN National Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sophomore guard Zykia Brown (Riverdale, Md./Parkdale H.S.) was tabbed as the Heritage Sports Radio Network's (HSRN) National Player of the Week, it was announced on Thursday.

Brown, who was also named the MEAC Player of the Week, averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.0 steals in two games for HU last week. She had a career-high 32 points against Norfolk State and dished out six assists against Maryland Eastern Shore, tying a career-high.

The Maryland native won the weekly HSRN honor after receiving 1,113 votes, more than double the amount of the second place finisher.

Howard faces off with Winston-Salem on Saturday in a non-league matchup at Lawrence Joel Coliseum. Game time is slated for 4 pm.
