WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Sophomore Zykia Brown (Riverdale, Md./Parkdale H.S.) was named to the All-MEAC second team, the conference announced tonight at its annual tip-off banquet.

Brown is currently third in the league in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game. She ranks in the top-10 in assists per game and free-throw percentage, and is top-five in 3-point field goals made per game.

The 2009 MEAC tournament begins tomorrow at Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Lady Bison, who earned the number eight seed will face off against ninth-seeded Bethune-Cookman in the opening round at 1:30 pm.
