Zykia Brown Named MEAC Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sophomore Zykia Brown (Riverdale, Md./Parkdale H.S.) was tabbed as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced yesterday.

Brown averaged 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in three victories for HU last week. She recorded a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds, both career highs, in a 69-58 victory over Bethune-Cookman. The win snapped a 15-game losing skid for the Lady Bison. She later had 13 points, six rebounds and four assists in a 63-36 non-conference win over Winston-Salem State.

The Maryland native also dished out a career-high six assists in a win over South Carolina State on Jan. 19.

Howard faces off against Morgan State in a MEAC decision on Saturday at Hill Field House. Tip-off is slated for 2 pm.
