THREE DOUBLE-FIGURE OUTINGS AND A DOUBLE-DOUBLE NOT ENOUGH ON SATURDAY

CHICAGO, ILL. (www.howard-bison.com) – November 17 – In a 68-51 loss to the Blue Demons of DePaul University on Saturday, Nov. 17, seniors Saadia Doyle, Cheyenne Curly-Payne and Kara Smith each scored in double-figures.  Alongside her team-high 21 points, Doyle tallied her first double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Curly-Payne notched a season-best 12 points, while also leading in assists with five and steals with five as well.

Smith, whose three-pointer at the 14:00 mark in the first half, finished the night with 11 points.

DePaul utilized its home court advantage and Big East superlatives to hold Howard to a 10-point deficit for a score of 15-5 at the 14:00 in the first 20 minutes of play.

HU's Smith dropped her run setting three pointer at the 14:00 mark, which paced the Lady Bison on a 13-2 run for a 17-14 lead at the 9:43 mark.

Within a minute's time, DePaul regained the lead and held to blue and white scoreless for the remainder of the first half.

HU trailed by 14 points, 32-18, after concluding the first 20 minutes of action.

The Blue Demons continued their scoring surge, pacing to 14-4 run for the largest margin lead of the night with a score of 46-22.

Curly-Payne revived the HU offense by securing three points off an "AND ONE" at the 14:07 mark.

On an 11-7 run, Howard brought the margin to 17 by the 8:58 mark.

DePaul regained its 24-point lead by the 6:31 mark, before settling into a 68-51 victory in McGrath-Phillips Arena on the DePaul campus

Howard continues its stint in Chicago, Ill., with Northwestern on Monday, Nov. 19, tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
