Game Notes: Howard at North Carolina A&T
WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – January 18 – After spending the opening portion of the 2013 campaign in the District of Columbia area, the Howard University women's basketball team travels south to take on North Carolina Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe North Carolina A&T State University on Saturday, Jan. 19 in Greensboro, N.C.
Howard takes on N.C. A&T after defeating Norfolk State University 56-45 during an ESPNU broadcast event on Monday, Jan. 14 in Burr Gymnasium on the HU campus.
In the win Saadia Doyle finished with 26 points, and senior Kara Smith scored 14 points. Doyle and freshmen Imani Bailey both pulled down seven rebounds apiece, Bailey's rebounding performance marks a season-best effort.
Statistically, HU shot 31 percent from the field, 25 percent from behind the arc and 59 percent from the charity stripe.
Along with the team's success, Doyle reached the 2,000 point milestone with a layup at the 4:14 that gave her 2,001 point. Doyle is the second Lady Bison to enter the 2,000-point and 1,000-rebound club.
On the season, Howard is 8-7, 5-1 at home, 2-5 on the road and 3-1 in the MEAC

Scouting North Carolina A&T
• Tarrell Robinson is in his first season at North Carolina A&T State University
• The Lady Aggies are members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
• NCAT is currently 10-6 overall, 2-1 in the MEAC, 6-1 at home, and 4-5 on the road
• The Aggies defeated Florida A&M on Monday, Jan. 14
• Three A&T student-athletes scored in double figures, which also included two double-doubles: JaQuayla Berry led the squad with 19 points and 12 rebounds, Tracy King notched 14 points and 11 rebounds and Eboni Ross tallied 17 points
• In the Saturday win, NCAT shot 52 percent from the field, 33 percent from the three-point range and 60 percent from the free-throw line
• The Lady Aggies average 60 ppg., while going 41 percent from the field, 33 percent from three-point range and 65 percent from the free-throw line
Seeing Double
Lady Bison standout begun her double-double performances, on the season Doyle has:
• 21 points and 10 rebounds (DePaul)
• 12 points and 11 rebounds (Northwestern)
• 24 points and 10 rebounds (Delaware State)
• 25 points and 10 rebounds (Pepperdine)
• 26 points and 15 rebounds (Coppin State)
Consecutive Honors for Doyle
Saadia Doyle was name Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The honor was announced on Thursday, Nov. 1.
What Have You Heard about the Herd
Along with Doyle's accolades, the Lady Bison were predicted to finish first in the MEAC this 2012-13 season.
Major News
Among 340 mid-major Division I institutions in the country, the Lady Bison ranked 12th above Richmond (Atlantic 10), Harvard (Ivy) and Central Michigan (Mid-American) on the preseason list.
