Bison Resume Conference Play at MEAC Northern Division Tournament

BALTIMORE, MD. - The Howard bowling squad resumed conference play at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Northern Division Tournament at Coppin State on Saturday and Sunday.

The Lady Bison recorded a 1-4 record in individual head-to-head action and a 1-4 mark in baker play.  

Freshman Jordane Frazier led HU with an 884 total pinfall in team match play. She topped 180 in three of the five matches and posted a high of 214 against Maryland Eastern Shore, the top performance for the Bison in the tournament.

Brianna Uzzell totaled 863 pins and Elizabeth Sanders added 712 pins in five games.

Alesyn McCall (463 pins, three games), Taneeka Hanna (386 pins, three games), Shayla Haynes (295 pins, two games) and Jasmine Hardesty (244 pins, two games) also saw action for HU.

Howard defeated Morgan State 852-762 in head-to-head action on day one. The Bison lost a tightly contested contest as they dropped a 735-733 decision to the host Eagles.

HU later took down Coppin State 677-521 in baker play on day two.

Howard (12-43, 7-23 MEAC) is off for a few weeks, next returning to action on Jan. 23-24, 2010 at the Lady Bulldog Classic.
