Howard Falls to Longwood in Senior Day Contest

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Longwood Lancers put together 13 goals in the second half en route to a 24-3 win over Howard on Thursday afternoon at Greene Stadium. It was the final home game for seniors Eboni Farmer, Ashlee Brown and Lauren Rivers.

Longwood (4-5, 3-0 NLC) jumped out to a 10-0 of the first half before Brown ended the scoring drought for HU with 10:29 remaining.

The Bison outscored the Lancers 3-1 in the final 9:31, but Longwood took an 11-3 lead at the intermission.

The second half was all Longwood as the Lancer defense held Howard (1-10, 0-5 NLC) scoreless.

Jazzmin Drennon and Ashley Lawrence contributed one goal apiece. Lawrence and Desiree Cox chipped in one ground ball each while Ashley Foote had a team-high three draw controls. Goalkeeper Amber Meeks stopped 10 shots.

Cara O'Brien and Duan Wright paced Longwood with four goals each.

HU travels to Michigan on Saturday, April 3 for a league matchup against Detroit-Mercy.
