Bison Wrap Up Season with Loss to Presbyterian

FARMVILLE, VA. - The Howard women's lacrosse team wrapped up its season with a 24-17 loss to Presbyterian in the consolation game of the NLC Championship on Sunday.

The Blue Hose took an early lead before the Bison knotted the score at 3-3 on a free position shot by Sakita Holley with 16:02 to go in the first half.

The teams remained tied up for two minutes before Laura Meade gave Presbyterian the 4-3 advantage. Howard responded with another goal by Holley to make it 4-4.

The Blue Hose took a 13-7 lead early in the second half before the HU defense held Presbyterian scoreless for the next 11 minutes. The Lady Bison scored eight goals for the 15-14 lead with 19:44 to play.

Brittni Dulaney spurred a 5-0 run for the Blue Hose as Presbyterian took a 19-15 lead.

Holley wrapped up her final game in a Bison uniform with 11 points. The graduating senior had 10 goals and three ground balls.

Ashley Lawrence added four goals and Ashlee Brown chalked up three.
