Lady Bison Drop Season Opener to George Washington
WASHINGTON, DC – The Howard Univ. lacrosse team dropped its season opener 21-3 to cross-town opponent George Washington on Feb. 16.
Desiree Cox lead Howard's attack by scoring two goals in the first period and one in the second half. Cox finished last season seventh in the nation with 68 goals last season.
The Colonials jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Megan Seidman netted two shots. Cox responded with back-to-back goals to knot it at 2-2. GW ended the period with a 14-0 run to take a comfortable 16-2 margin that the Lady Bison would not recover from.
HU is back in action when it hosts Bucknell at Greene Stadium on Feb. 19 beginning at 3 p.m.
