Lacrosse Drops home Opener to Shepherd in Triple OT
Washington DC – The Howard Univ. lacrosse team took its first loss at Greene Stadium with a triple overtime defeat by the hands of the Shepherd Rams on Sunday Feb. 19.
Shepherd's Georgia Karr scored the first goal of the game at 29:19, but HU quickly answered with a goal by Cheryse Cox assisted by Jillian Parker at 27:58. The first 30 minutes of play ended with a 12-6 margin.
During the second stint, The Bison came back with a vengeance outscoring the Rams 11 to five, sending the game into overtime. With two, three minute overtime periods, the game ended with Shepherd scoring the game winning goal four two minutes into the last extra-period.
Cynthia Small and Jaymie Cox led the pack for the Bison with a total of four goals each..
HU is back in action on the road Feb. 28 at La Salle University.
