Koefoed Scores Game Winner to Lift Lady Bison Past Del. St. on Senior Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Retha Koefoed scored the game winning goal with 39 seconds remaining in the second period to give the Lady Bison a 3-2 edge over Delaware State on senior day. With the win, the Lady Bison improve to 6-8 on the season and 3-2 in the GWC.

Delaware State struck first within the first 10 minutes of the game. HU responded seven minutes later with a Rachael Lee goal off the foot of Owyn Manson. Cynthia Snyder opened scoring in the second period with a goal near the top of the 18 yeard box. A DSU goal with three minutes remaining tied the game at two. Koefoed's shot within the 18 yard box within the last minute ended the Hornet's hope of an extra period and gave the Lady Bison the slim lead they needed for the victory.

Howard is back in action for its last regular season game on Oct. 29 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology beginning at 7 p.m.
