Lady Bison Upset in 3-2 Overtime Loss to Rider

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard Univ. women's soccer team almost held off Rider for a victory, but Rider's ability to out shoot Howard proved to be too much.  The Lady Bison (0-4-1) ended their fifth matchup with a 3-2 overtime loss against Rider (3-2-1).

The Lady Bison got off to a slow start, only managing one shot in the first period.  However, the Lady Bison roared to life in the second half.  HU's first goal was scored in the 46th minute by Jordan Brown with an assist by Nia Walcott. Ten minute's later Rider's goalie came out to defend Brown, but she proved too quick and dribbled around  to make what would be Howard's last goal of the night.

Bison goalie Chanel Bell had an outstanding game, finishing with a total of six saves.  Although Howard only had five shots during the entire game, their ability to stretch across the field was phenomenal.

The Bison are back in action at home on Sun. Sept. 11 against Robert Morris beginning at 1 pm.
