UPPER MARLBORO, MD. - The Lady Bison tennis team took down Mount St. Mary's, 4-3, for its first win of the season Saturday evening at Watkins Tennis Bubble in Upper Marlboro, Md.

Freshman Ashley Moore defeated Emily Bolchoz at No. 1 singles, 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 and Michele Gee was victorious at No. 2 after winning 6-4, 6-1 over Chelsea Johnson.

Alyssa Works was downed in a tough matchup at No. 3 while Whitney Ambush blanked Emily Grugan, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Lauren Fenn went on to win 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.

Moore and Ambush teamed up for a 9-8 doubles win at No. 2 over Bolchoz/Grugan.

Howard returns to action on March 6-8 at the MEAC Round Robin in Sumter, S.C.
