Lady Bison Win Final MEAC Decision

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Lady Bison prevailed over Morgan State, 4-3 in its final conference decision Sunday afternoon at Banneker Courts.

Freshman sensation Ashley Moore won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to improve to 9-8 in singles action.

Alyssa Works was defeated by Alexis McCoy in a tough No. 2 singles contest, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. Viktoriya Lukayenko defeated Michelle Gee 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 and Whitney Ambush went on to defeat Pola Olckaz 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4. Lauren Fenn took down Sydnee Collins 6-0, 1-6, 7-5 at No. 5.

Works and Gee won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles and Moore/Fenn teamed up for an 8-2 win over Olckaz and Lukayeko at No. 2.

The Bison women wrap up MEAC play with a 4-1 mark. Their final home contest is Tuesday, April 14 vs. UMBC.
