Nov 26, 2008 Women's Tennis Volunteers at Banneker Halloween PartyWASHINGTON, D.C. - Several members of the Howard University women's tennis team and the Bison coaching staff helped put the fun in the Banneker Recreation Center Halloween Party this season. "The opportunity to help people in this way, even if it's just to make one day better for them, is awesome," said head coach Larry Strickland. Howard donated candy and participated in the center's haunted house. Strickland, his staff and his teams have volunteered for the annual event for the past 24 years. "This is always a great opportunity for our team to get involved in the community," Strickland added. "One of the things that makes Howard University a unique place is its dedication to community service." The Howard tennis teams return to action on Jan. 31 with a matchup against Old Dominion.
