WASHINGTON, D.C. - Howard University's women's tennis squad is doing their part by promoting cancer awareness at their next contest, this Saturday Feb. 21 vs. Mount St. Mary's.

The team will play with pink balls to bring attention to the cause. Along with the pink balls, there will also be cancer wristbands on sale for twenty-five cents during the game.

Howard athletics has taken an active role in cancer awareness this month. Women's tennis is joining the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in the fight against breast cancer. "Breast cancer is a responsibility of everyone and we all should be involved in seeking a cure," said Larry Strickland, head coach.

Along with the cancer wristbands and the special balls being used, there will also be an auction during the game to help the breast cancer efforts.
