WASHINGTON, D.C. - Despite singles victories from Brittney Morgan, Alyssa Works and Anne Akhimien, Howard lost to Radford 4-3 Friday afternoon at Banneker Courts.

The Highlanders posted the victory on the strength of winning three singles decisions and by winning the doubles points.

Morgan won at No. 1 singles by defeating Ivana Tomaic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Works defeated Sarah Tenger 6-0, 4-6, 6-5 at No. 5 singles and Akhimien beat Emerald Lauzon 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

Radford won all three of the doubles matches to earn the point.

Howard (4-3) travels to Coppin State for its first conference match of the season on Sunday, March 21.
