Lady Bison Bow to Retrievers
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The UMBC women's tennis team defeated Howard 5-2 in a non-conference match at the UMBC Tennis Complex on Thursday. The loss snapped a four match win streak for HU.
Michelle Brown was victorious at No. 1 singles and remained undefeated with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Carmen Jackman.
Alyssa Works, playing at No. 5 singles, rallied back in her match against Heidi Danielsson before falling in the third set. Danielsson took the first set 7-5 before Works posted a 7-5 win in the second set. Danielsson nipped Works 6-2 in the third, and deciding, set.
Works teamed with Brittney Morgan to post an
8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles over Jackman and Alice Chen. Brown and
Ashley Moore won by the same score at No. 2 doubles.
The Lady Bison (4-1) are scheduled to play in
the Virginia Beach Team Tournament on March 16-18.
