Lady Bison Victorious in Weekend Action
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard women's tennis team continued its winning ways on March 27-28 with victories over Morgan State (MSU) and George Washington (GW). HU blanked MSU 7-0 on Saturday before rolling over GW 5-2 on Sunday.
The Lady Bison swept the Bears on Saturday, March 27 after winning every doubles and singles matchup.
Brittney Morgan continued play at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Viktoriy Lukyanenko. Michelle Brown defeated Alexis McCoy, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and Ashley Moore won easily at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Anne Akhimien defeated Frances Ferdinand 8-2 during action at No. 4 singles and Amber Cuff won at No. 5 by default.
Howard made easy work of non-conference foe George Washington on Sunday, March 28. The Patriots jumped out by sweeping the Bison in doubles action but HU won five of the six singles matchups for the win.
Howard (7-3, 2-0 MEAC) makes the short trip to George Mason on Wednesday, March 31.
