Bison Fall in Close MatchupWASHINGTON, D.C. - Howard fell in another close volleyball matchup on Tuesday, dropping a 3-1 (25-16, 19-25, 25-17, 28-26) non-conference decision to George Washington. The Colonials (13-9) took the first set before the Bison rebounded to win by six in the second stanza. George Washington walked away with the win in the third while the fourth was a back and forth battle before GW edged HU, 28-26 for the set and match win. Howard hit .213 in the loss. Gazelle d'Artois paced the Bison with a match-high 15 kills while chipping in six block-assists. The sophomore hit.289 in the match. Elyssa Lee added 12 kills and six digs, while Nicole Brown and Janel James finished with 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Setter Grace DeMichelis had a match-high 46 assists. For George Washington, Hannah Stuart led three Colonials in double-digit kills with 13. Abby Syverson and Liz Moult contributed 11 kills each. Stuart also added 11 digs on the defensive end while Jackie Yaniga chipped in 11 of her own. Howard travels to Hampton, Va. for a MEAC contest tomorrow at 7pm.
