Bison Close Volleyball Season With Loss to Hawks

PRINCESS ANNE, MD. - Gazelle d'Artois had 11 kills and Howard outblocked Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) 11-1, but the Bison dropped its season finale to UMES 25-14, 25-14, 25-18 on Sunday in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match in Hytche Athletic Center.

Junior Nicole Brown led all players in digs with 15. Sophomore Taylor Johnson had three block assists on defense while d'Artois, Keri Partridge, Jasmine King and Gabrielle Martin chipped in two blocks each. 

HU, who finished the season with an 8-26 overall record and a 4-16 record in conference play, were limited to a .148 hitting percentage.

Maryland Eastern Shore improved to 21-6 overall and 10-0 in the MEAC. They also recorded a .372 hitting percentage as a team and posted 16 service aces.  

Howard sits in a three-way tie in league standings with Morgan State and Hampton and now awaits its seeding for the MEAC Tournament on Nov. 19-22.
