Lafayette Holds Off Howard
EASTON, PA. - Gazelle d'Artois had 19 kills and Tosin Elebute added 11, but Lafayette held off Howard 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-16) Tuesday night in Easton, Pa.
d'Artois also added 17 digs on the defensive end, the match high.
Junior Nicole Brown had 13 digs and sophomore Taylor Johnson had a match-high four blocks. Johnson also added five kills.
Freshman Jasmine King fell one dig shy of a double-double. The setter had 36 assists, the match-high, nine digs and three kills.
Howard (4-18) hit .333 in the first set and limited the Leopards to a .056 attack percentage en route to the 25-18 win.
Lafayette (10-6) rebounded in the next set 25-18 and narrowly edged HU in the third set, 26-24. The Leopards took the fourth and final set, 25-16.
The Lady Bison travel to Baltimore, Md. on Friday for a conference match against Coppin State.
