SIX HOWARD CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETES EARN ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS
WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – Every year prior to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference cross country tournament, the MEAC announces the 2012 men's and women's cross country all-academic honorees.
On Thursday, Oct. 25, the MEAC recognized 92 student-athletes from the conference's 13 institutions who attained academic success during the 2011-12 school year.
"I commend the men's and women's cross country student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2011-12 academic school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "In addition to recognizing the student-athletes accomplishments, I also applaud the athletic academic support staff and personnel and coaching staffs who contributed to the academic triumphs of these student-athletes. Our institutions, coaches and support staffs are committed to the academic success of our student-athletes."

The HU cross country team continues making strides with the MEAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on Satuday, Oct. 27 in Princess Anne, Md., hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Norfolk State is the four-time defending MEAC men's champion, while Hampton will battle for its third overall title.
