Maurene Green was born in Alliance, Nebraska, on the 10th of September 1954 to Maurice Green and Jurene Powell Green. Early years in Alliance helped her become a compassionate and resilient person. Maurene began her career with Mutual of Omaha in Omaha after completing her high school education in Alliance in 1972.

Maurene settled back in Western Nebraska for the next few years. Here, she married Jim Garner. She also raised their two daughters. Maurene never lost her dedication and resilience to her family, despite the many challenges she faced in life, including a difficult divorce.

Finding Love and Adventure

When Maurene met her true love Jim Power, she was transformed. Together, they built a welcoming home for family and friends. Together, they always had a travel agenda. They visited the breathtaking desert landscapes of Arizona, East and West Coast Cities as well as Alaska’s remote wilderness areas.

Community Involvement & Legacy

Maurene’s participation in the First United Methodist Church, as well as a women’s prayer group, highlighted her community spirit and spiritual commitment. Her deep family values were reflected in her commitment to support and connect with her grandchildren.

Farewell in style

Maurene Green died last year. Her father Maurice Green had predeceased her. She leaves behind a legacy of fond memories and love with her mother Jurene, daughters, sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
